Case Study

When your company's identity can easily be confused with others in your industry, or worse, in your market, what do you do? Well, LB Fisher hired us to help recreate their identity, which we then followed up with the young company's new website.

A high-end home building company based out of Lake Oswego, LB Fisher had already been up and running for about a year before they came to us. They originally contacted us to create their website, but through discussion it was clear a new logo / identity was going to help them stand out in the home contracting industry. Their previous logo used a graphic element that symbolized a home, which was not only predictable, but also could be found in at least a dozen other companies in the same industry – some in LB Fisher's own target audience.

The Fishers have been successful in the home building industry for several decades, so it was only natural that we focus our efforts on the family name. We stayed away from symbols of any kind and concentrated on making the name the logo. The result is a classic, elegant and simple logo that accurately reflects the kind of work LB Fisher does.

We kept that same idea with LB Fisher's new website as well. The site is as minimal as we could get it so that the focus would be the content: copy and images. The copy itself is the jewel behind the simple, elegant layout. Rather than go with a traditional gallery section to highlight LB Fisher's projects, we opted for interviewing three of their clients and present each project that way. We still kept a gallery touch to each story, of course, to show before and after shots.
