Challenge
After a successful collaboration on their County Fair & Expo website, Deschutes County called on us again, this time to revamp their main county website.
The requirements for the project were pretty tight (especially since it's a government site) and provided an awesome challenge that made us really pay even more attention to accessibility, usability and a lot of browser compatibility.
Solution
Using semantic, standards-based code and progressive enhancement, we started as simple as possible to provide users with older browsers (really old) with a decent experience and built the site up from there for more modern browsers.
We provided basic templates and web style guide for the IT and web development team at the County to integrate the new look and feel into their chosen content management system. We've also been providing additional support in case something got overlooked or wasn't quite working right during their integration process.
