To set up your email account as IMAP (instead of POP3), follow the steps below for each account you want to set up.
Note: These instructions use Microsoft Outlook 2007, but the steps for Outlook 2003 are very similar. Please note that we do not officially support versions of Outlook older than 2003.
-
In Outlook, go to Tools > Account Settings.

-
Under the "Email" tab in the pop-up window, click on New...

- In the "Add New E-mail Account" screen, do not enter any account information. Only check the checkbox at the bottom that reads "Manually configure server settings or additional server types." Then click Next. If you do not get this screen, skip to step 4.
-
In the next screen, make sure Internet Email is selected. Then click Next.

-
In the next screen, enter your account information:
- Your Name: enter the name you want shown in the "To:" field when people receive email from this account
- Email Address: enter your email address
- Account Type: Choose IMAP.
- Incoming mail server: enter "mail.yourdomain.com", replacing "yourdomain.com" with your actual domain.
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): the same as above
- User Name: enter your full email address
- Password: enter your password
- Make sure "Remember password" is checked
- Then, to make sure the account is working properly with Outlook, click Test Account Settings. Outlook should send a test message; if you receive it, great - you're all set. If you don't receive the test message and/or get error messages when clicking on Test Account Settings, please contact support.
