Your site’s design and your credibility

By: Angie

It's true, web design is more than just aesthetics. But that doesn't mean the aesthetic design (i.e., look and feel) of a website doesn't matter.

You may be the best at what you do and maybe your existing customers know that. But the folks heading to your site for the first time may not get that impression at all. "But I get new customers from referrals," I hear you say. That's great! But why cut yourself off from additional opportunities? Putting all your marketing eggs in one basket has never been a good idea.

If you site looks like garbage people aren't going to think very highly of your business or product. Ultimately that means that those people will click away. And not just anywhere. They'll head to your competition.

Take this little factoid:

75% of web users admit making judgments about the credibility of an organization based on the design of its web site.*

Still think paying for good design isn't worth it?
