Your blogging platform has nothing to do with SEO
By

Not too long ago I heard someone say that choosing the right blogging platform can essentially make or break your SEO efforts. This person was a web designer, and quite frankly, he didn't know what he was saying.
Blogging in and of itself does help with SEO, assuming you're providing valuable content. But the software running your blog doesn't make a difference. Whatever blogging software you choose, be it WordPress, Blogger, or whatever, it's not going to miraculously optimize your site and get you ranking well.
Good SEO is completely independent of software. If it weren't, static sites with no blogging software behind them wouldn't rank and many blogs out there with little value would. No, good SEO is about 3 core things:
- Content
- Link building
- and on-page optimization
Not one of them have anything to do with the software your site runs on.
