Writing content for your users

Ninety-nine percent of people like to talk about themselves. Or hear someone else talk about them. The other 1% is likely wishing that the conversation would become about them. So basically, everybody likes to talk about themselves.
The question, in regard to your website / brochure / ad copy, is are you catering to this?
One of the best improvements any business can make at converting leads and retaining customers is to make whatever it is you sell important to _them_. Answer the question "What's in it for _ME_?" Because even though most of us won't admit it, _most_ of the time we only think about ourselves. Especially when it comes to buying stuff.
So if your marketing copy is all about your business, service or product - how great it is, what it sells, how it's received this or that accolade - it may be time to re-evaluate. Make it about them - the end user, the consumer, the reader, etc. Your customers will thank you.
