Templates don't work because you don't have any input in the creative process. This means you can't or will have a really tough time "owning" the design. I don't mean copyright ownership – though that may be part of it. Rather, the design, the look, the feel, isn't yours. It isn't your company's. It's a template you tacked on to your business rather than allowing your business and your goals dictate how you should be represented visually.
