The grid/cloud – I’ll call it the groud for now – promises so much, and yet always seems to fall short, regardless of the provider.
I don't know much about the technicalities of what the grid / cloud (groud) consists of, but it always seemed like a marketing buzzword. Snipe's article somewhat confirms that. And then, there's Oracle's Larry Ellison discussing the cloud which made more sense to me.
