Since committing to designing only to web standards for web design late last year, a lot has been learned and my own personal standards for web design have been taken to the next level. With that came the frustration of how this very site looked. It was my first real-world attempt at web standards. Not a bad one, but after a few months I got sick of looking at it. It just didn't seem to really represent what I could do or what 420 Design is about. Hence, the early redesign (normally I redesign every 1-2 years, not 6 months).
You may have also noticed that we have a new logo. The old logo was overdue for a makeover for at least a year. In all, it took me several weeks (if not months) to even have a few concepts I liked and felt were appropriate for the studio. (Keep in mind I was doing this between client projects.)
The new one is much cleaner (see the theme here?) and is more "techy" which I feel is very appropriate since we are primarily a web design studio.
So here it is. A much cleaner, leaner, better looking, and more streamlined site, in my humble opinion. It portrays the kind of design we do here and the kind of studio I run. And it functions much better.
I'd love to hear any feedback. And most importantly, while the site was carefully tested on both Mac and PC and on multiple browsers, if you spot anything funny on your particular setup, let us know!
