Earlier this week I unsubscribed to one of the (what seems like) million email newsletters I get. This particular company had an unsubscribe link in the newsletter, so that was good.
What wasn't so good was this:
Okay, so it's no the worst thing ever, but I did wonder why the hell CAPTCHA was necessary to finalize my decision to unsubscribe. I still don't know the answer.
Personally, if I want to unsubscribe I want to do so as quick and as painless as possible. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way. But from a business perspective, however, I want to know *why* someone decided to unsubscribe. The CAPTCHA didn't address either of these.
Maybe it's time to rethink that a bit.
