Google has dropped support for IE7:
Older browsers just don’t have the chops to provide you with the same high-quality experience.
For this reason, soon Google Apps will only support modern browsers. Beginning August 1st, we’ll support the current and prior major release of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari on a rolling basis. Each time a new version is released, we’ll begin supporting the update and stop supporting the third-oldest version.
Of course, for Google – a behemoth on the web – this is something they can do relatively easy. Micro and small businesses should be more careful about decisions like this as it could take a major toll on the bottom line. That said, if we can start heading in that direction, we'll be better off. And by we, I don't just mean web developers and web-heads. I mean, all of us that use the web for, well... pretty much anything.
