I'm not a big fan of social media for business. At least, when it's anything besides forums, blogs or [LinkedIn](http://www.linkedin.com/). In other words, I have yet to be convinced that apps like Twitter and Facebook work well for business. That aside, what I do think is that most businesses who delve into the social media world forget one critical thing, which was clearly pointed out by Mark Collier at the Search Engine Guide Blog:
> ...People aren't on Twitter and aren't blogging so they will be in a position to receive your marketing messages. They are using social media to connect with other people.
