Full Disclosure: 420 Design is a sponsor and designers of Startup Portland's identity and website, and Ben Edtl and I have worked together and been friends since 2004.
No one ever said starting a business was easy. At least I don't think anyone ever said that. If someone did, they're wrong. But there are plenty of resources out there. How to find them, however, can be a challenge. And what about learning from others' experiences? Wouldn't it be great if there was a place you could go or tune to that has the info and the experience to share? Well, for Portlanders, now there is.
Startup Portland is a new radio show on AM 1410 KBNP (Portland's Money Station). "If you’re an entrepreneur, a private investor or thinking about getting into the game from either perspective, Startup Portland will help get you there." And while the term entrepreneur may seem a bit daunting or that it only applies to those who want to start the next Google or You Tube or Flickr, or whatever, there's plenty to learn from host Ben Edtl, even if all you want to do is start up a cafe, or pilates studio or whatever floats your boat. (I've turned to him for advice once or twice.) Bottom line: he knows his stuff.
Startup Portland's very first show is tomorrow, Friday, Aug 1. And it airs from 4pm to 5pm every Friday on AM 1410 KBNP. Aside from being jam-packed with info, you can bet the show will be entertaining!
Learn more about the show and its host at their website (which will be live by this evening): www.startuppdx.com
