Senior year design class(es) (way) back in college taught us about product packaging but sadly, I was never top-notch at it. What I came up with was good (I passed and graduated after all!), but because of it I've always had a lot of respect and admiration for package designers. The reason I bring this up at all is because this weeks Awesome Design feature is package design at its absolute best (that also reminded me of a college design assignment).

The logo has the interesting attribute of being readable top to bottom (like Japanese writing) or left to right. The images feature shapes formed from a conceptual 'slashing of a knife', which gives a nod to the skill of the knife-wielder.
