Racing logos often tend to be predictable or contrived. Do a quick Google Images search and you'll see what I mean. A lot of checkered flags, black and red color combinations, either slick (yet corny) type treatments or a script font that's supposed to look fast, swooshes, lines or other graphic elements meant to portray "fast", etc., etc. So this logo by BrandBerry is very refreshing.
While the logo still has remnants of checkered flags and the slick type, both those elements have been done so well that the logo is anything but contrived. I'm actually surprised I haven't seen this concept before. A checkered flag (or 2) ripped apart to imply speed? Brilliant.
