After trying and using Safari 4 beta for about a month, I'm still loving it. But there are a few areas that could be better. One in particular has started to drive me a little batty that John Gruber pointed out:
Every previous release of Safari, starting with the initial 1.0 public beta, displayed page load progress with a horizontal meter in the location field... Now, in the Safari 4 public beta, page load progress is indicated only by a subtle spinner at the far right of the location field...
He goes on to say that even though he once said that progress bar in the address field was dumb, he grew used to it. I never really thought much about it. Until now. I do miss that progress meter in the address bar. The spinner in the right corner isn't enough visual cue for me. Apple, please bring it back.
