20 good landscaping company websites - 420 Creative

Landscaping is an industry that, not unlike design, must appeal to an audience's aesthetic sensibilities. The audience being home and building owners of course. For that reason it's interesting to see so many landscaping company websites that are so poor in aesthetic appeal. Aside from appeal, the poor design so many landscaping websites carry directly and negatively impact the usability and trust factor every website needs to rank high on. And that's not even touching on the strategic aspects of what each company's website is meant to do. So to see these 20 landscaping company websites break from the norm is refreshing. They have clearly given their web presence some thought and hired designers that helped that come to fruition.

However, a legal requirement, while critical doesn't mean the design is poor or that the site functions poorly. Is it a mistake to overlook it? Absolutely, but that doesn't equate a design failure especially when you start to consider how many site visitors actually actively look for that little number (I don't know what kind of stats there are for that, if any). Considering how many poorly designed websites there are in this industry, these all get top marks in my book. :) Thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts!!
Posted by Angie Herrera on 2009-10-06 20:07:14 Probably the best proof reader for a website, at least in Oregon where I'm at, is the business owner. It was surprising to see how many nice landscape sites omitted their required landscape license number when first posting to the internet. Many are up to speed on this now. Even the best design can't compensate for the legal requirement of the license number. Of the design you posted, I think Seven Dees is the one I like best. With the budget they have to work with, they should have a pretty nice website. Highridge is the site I hear the most positive feedback about actually. MDV Oregon
